Make Safe and Responsible Trail Running your Resolution for 2018

President's Message

Run Wild Vancouver started out as a fundraising campaign in support of local volunteer search and rescue back in 2016 with our first calendar and fundraising event. I’m very proud that we’ve raised over $40,000 to date and continue to raise funds with our 2018 trail running calendar.

While fundraising for SAR is important, we believe that prevention is key! That’s why we’ve worked with AdventureSmart to develop a unique version of their Survive Outside program specifically tailored to trail runners which we began to roll out the summer of 2017.

Stay tuned to our Facebook page for a list of upcoming events which include:

  • March 16: MEC North Vancouver
  • March 27: Van Run Co
  • June 11: Arc’teryx Burrard

We’re also excited for the opportunity to engage the community at race events in the coming season where we’ll be talking about trip planning, training, and taking the essentials. Be sure to stop by our booth to say ‘hello’ when you see our team.

As our educational programming, community outreach, and fundraising initiatives continue to grow, so too have our needs as an organization to become more organized and more transparent. That’s why we recently incorporated as the non-profit Run Wild Vancouver Society and have assembled a team as our board of directors for the coming year.

So take a moment to meet the team and to learn about our programs and some of the ways that you might be able to get involved. We’re working hard to serve the trail running community and appreciate your continued support.

Thanks and see you on the trails!
